Ridley Scott’s next installment into the Alien franchise set to go into production next month the casting is being finalized. We have recently received a whole list of new casting made for the upcoming feature. The new cast is in addition to the Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir and Danny Mcbride.
The new additions to the cast include Jussie Smollett (Empire), Amy Seimetz(Upstream Color), Carmen Ejogo (Selma), and Callie Hernandez (La La Land). While we don’t know the roles the newcomers will be playing it is safe to say that Scott has added an abundance of talent to the film that was already well stocked. Coming off his smash hit The Martian, Scott looks to return the Alien franchise to it’s former glory, and has brought in some big talent to do so. Deadline has also reported that Billy Crudup is currently wrapping negotiations to join the film as well, and his role has been described as “a key part” to the film.
We know very little in the way of plot at this time, but what we have so far i that the film will pick up 10 years after the events in Prometheus, and will bring us the return of Fassbender’s David who is stranded on a planet alone. 10 Years after Prometheus would place Alien Covenant 20 years behind the original Alien film, so we are inching towards the original time line. As is the way of the franchise Alien Covenant will be Rated-R and is set to release on October 6th 2016.
So what do you guys think of the new casting additions? Are you excited for Alien Covenant? Drop a comment and let us know what you think.
