Thus concluding the film categories at the SAG awards! Some quick observations for each category. For best stunt ensemble, while Civil War will likely garner the win, Hacksaw ridge was better coordinated and utilized more practical stunt work and effects. Best Supporting actor is a tough call at this point. It has likely come down to a two man race between Bridges and Ali, but Bridges seems to have the momentum, and Ali’s screen time is working against him. Best supporting actress is a tight race, but also appears to be down to two. Davis is the favorite, but Harris was haunting in Moonlight and will look to steal the award. Best lead actor gets interesting. Gosling might win by default, thanks to Emma Stone, but he doesn’t deserve the award. Denzel crushed it in Fences, but Viola Davis might have overshadowed him a bit. Garfield is the interesting pick, because he turned in two performances this year that could have been nominated, so he might win based on body of work in 2016. The favorite is Casey Affleck though, and he should take the trophy, but it’s far from a lock. Best Lead Actress is all but won for Emma Stone. Natalie Portman was incredible in Jackie, but La La Land is the award darling this year and Stone is the clear favorite. Also, how the hell did Emily Blunt get a nom? Best Ensemble Cast is the SAG Awards best picture, basically. Moonlight is the clear front runner for the award, but watch out for Hidden Figures or Manchester by the Sea to try and steal some shine.

The SAG Awards airs later this evening so please stay tuned to Bro Knows on all social media as we announce the winners and live tweet the show. Also watch out for our Oscar predictions coming up in a couple weeks!
