Massive Cast For Captain America: Civil War

Avengers Age of Ultron is the king of the box office as it enters week 2 and for good reason. If you haven’t yet you can check out the Bro Knows review of the film on our home page! Even with Avengers in full swing it is difficult not to reference Marvel’s biggest upcoming projects, perhaps none more important than Civil War.

The running joke is that Cap’ 3 is nothing more than Avengers 2.5. With a slew of familiar faces it will certainly feature a similar cast to the Avengers films. Until you see the full cast listing though, you really have no idea just how jam packed this movie truly is.

Straight from here is the official cast list.

The film returns Chris Evans (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron”) as the iconic Super Hero character Steve Rogers/Captain America along with Robert Downey Jr. (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Marvel’s “Iron Man 3”) as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”) as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Sebastian Stan (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Captain America: The First Avenger”) as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”) as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Iron Man 3”) as The Vision, Jeremy Renner (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Marvel’s “The Avengers”) as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Iron Man 3”) as Jim Rhodes/War Machine and Elizabeth Olsen (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Godzilla”) as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.

After his debut in Marvel’s “Ant-Man” on July 17, 2015, Paul Rudd (“Ant-Man,” ”Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues”) will make his first appearance alongside the Avengers as Scott Lang/Ant-Man in “Captain America: Civil War.”

The film also includes outstanding additional cast, including Chadwick Boseman (“42,” “Get on Up”) as T’Challa/Black Panther, Emily VanCamp (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Revenge”) as Sharon Carter/Agent 13, Daniel Brühl (“Inglourious Basterds,” “Bourne Ultimatum”), Frank Grillo (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Warrior”) as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones, William Hurt (“A History of Violence,” Marvel’s “The Incredible Hulk”) as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross and Martin Freeman (“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies”).

William Hurt as General “Thunderbolt” Ross

Basically everyone that has ever been in a Marvel movie is going to be in this thing in some capacity, to what capacity is yet to be determined. Subtract Thor and Hulk and you have everyone back and also introduce several new characters in the mix as well. Some of the cooler announcements are that of Martin Freeman and the return of William Hurt. Freeman comes in by way of recent successes in the Hobbit trilogy, and Hurt reprises his role as General Ross from the Edward Norton Incredible Hulk. On top of that it will be great to see Black Panther via Chadwick Boseman show up as well. The additional of Daniel Bruhl is also pretty exciting for the mere fact that he is just an incredible talent.

This is just amazing. It’s pretty cool to think we will only have to wait till next year to see all the Avengers back on screen together in a giant blockbuster film. There is no doubt that this is pretty much just another Avengers movie with the Captain America moniker, but either way it still sounds awesome and the cast is large and phenomenal. Also, and this is just speculation, but the guess is that when Spiderman is officially announced, he will also appear in the cast list for Civil War!!

So what do you guys out in Bro Nation think? You guys like the cast so far? Drop a comment and let’s start a discussion!
