We just can’t get a handle on this Power Rangers movie. So many questions for the decision makers behind this thing, like; why are you making this movie? Or Are you trying to rip off Chronicle or The Avengers? Either way, the film is on it’s way whether we like it or not. The first trailer was actually solid. It provided a distinctly unique vision and a modern tone to the Power Rangers lore, and felt like a darker film than was expected. The second trailer sort of reeled that tone back in with some hokey dialogue and a more vibrant and flamboyant color pallette. The first look at Bryan Cranston’s Zed was also a bit jarring, but again, it was a more modern take on the classic floating head character.

Power Rangers is an inherently cheesy property, and the last feature length version of this property was both a critical and financial bust. One of the more over the top parts of the original series were the Zords, which are massive battle monsters that the rangers control and fight massive monsters with. The final poster for the Power Rangers movie gives us a full look at the Zords in action, and it is.. Well you be the judge.

Starring Naomi Scott, Becky G., Ludi Lin, RJ Cyler, and Dacre Montgomery, with Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks, the John Gatins-scripted Power Rangers opens in theaters on March 24, 2017.
