Fox has officially dropped the first featurette for their upcoming film X-Men Apocalypse. The behind the scenes look gives us some context surrounding the big bad and his four horsemen, with whom he elevates their powers in an attempt to lure them into assisting him with eradicating humanity. In Bryan Singer’s latest, we see Professor X and his team face their greatest foe ever in the form of the ancient Apocalypse, who is considered to be the first mutant ever, in turn making him the most powerful mutant ever. The four horsemen include Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), and Angel (Ben Hardy).
The featurette gives us a look at some fresh footage and we also get to here from the cast in some exclusive commentary. We also get to hear from director Bryan Singer. Alexandra Shipp spoke with Collider.com last year and made mention that her charcter is actually there for the reserection of Apocalypse in 1980’s Egypt. It’ll be interesting to see how Oscar Isaac’s big bad goes about recruiting the horsemen and even more interesting to see How Apocalypse looks on the big screen after all those Ivan Ooze comparisons early on. In the meantime check out the featurette below.
The film also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Rose Byrne, Evan Peters, Lucas Till, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Josh Helman, and Lana Candor. X-Men: Apocalypse opens in theaters on May 27th.
