Kong: Skull Island is set to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2017. The King Kong reboot has amasses an incredible group of performers, writers, and filmmakers to produce an epic update to the classic King Kong story, that features the creatures home lane of Skull Island. Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who directed the indie film Kings of Summer, now has the difficult transition from low budget to massive blockbuster. That transition is likely to be a lot easier to make when you factor in the cast for this film which features Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, Jason Mitchell and Corey Hawkins from Straight Outta Compton, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Thomas Mann, Toby Kebbell, Tom Wilkinson and John C. Reilly. This is one insanely big and talented cast that will surely make the director’s job a lot easier.

The cool thing about the reboot is that it is not the standard, which means that this film is set in the 70’s as opposed to the 30’s. The characters do not appear to be the cast and crew of a film, but rather expeditionists and explorers. The plot details aren’t completely clear as of yet, but we did get our first behind the scenes look at the film at the MTV movie awards. Yes that was the Music Television Movie Awards. On top of the great cast, solid premise, cool footage, we were also treated to the idea that Warner Bros. has set in motion plans to cross Kong with their Godzilla universe they created.
