If you do not know who X-23 is, just watch the last Logan trailer. She’s the little girl jumping around, kicking major ass. It has officially been confirmed that Dafne Keen is portraying the mutant Laura or known more commonly as the mutant clone, X-23. To celebrate, Empire has a spread of all new images that feature the little badass herself.
We also knew that Logan was rated R, but thanks to director Nick Mangold, we officially know why. He took to his twitter to warn the potential audience that Logan is R-rated for strong brutal violence, language, and brief nudity. The images indicate the possibility for lots of blood, and the R-rating pretty much solidifies that. If that weren’t cool enough, Hugh Jackman shares a story from set about some of the profanity being used.
“I just yelled, “SHUT THE F*CK UP!” At the end of 40 minutes of this I went up to Maria, Dafne’s mum, and I said, “Maria, I’ve got an 11-year-old and I’m just really sorry.” Maria said, “Aw, don’t worry, she just called you a c*nt. In Spanish.”
Well that is pretty awesome. The film is set in 2029 and apparently there hasn’t been a new mutant birth for quite some time. Xavier’s abilities are becoming increasingly more chaotic as his health fails and Logan is trying to remain under the radar — until he crosses paths with Laura, who’s being pursued by a man named Pierce (Boyd Holbrook) and his army of Reavers.
Stephen Merchant plays the albino tracker mutant Caliban, Richard E. Grant plays Rice, and Fear the Walking Dead’s Elizabeth Rodriguez plays Gabriela. Logan will hit theaters on March 3rd.
