Rings is set to drop this week, and ahead go the release, we have some footage from the film. The first few minutes of the movie is now available for public viewing, so you decide why they made another one of these things while you waste a few minutes avoiding whatever work you probably should be doing.
The clip is just showcasing the clear bastardization of the original concept, and has some pretty dour acting. The good news is that it’s just the first 3 minutes so the filmmakers are probably banking on aiming low to start and hoping that if the rest is slightly better then no one will really care. The clip sort of feels like a rip off of the original Final Destination. It takes place on an airplane and gives us our first look at Samara in action as she terrorizes some poor fella and a couple of melodramatic girls. What is perhaps most obnoxious about this clip, is the fact that the events in it are molded as a result of this jackass getting on a plane exactly 7 days after he was told he would die, in 7 days! Dick move guy.
Starring Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan and Vincent D’Onofrio, director F. Javier Gutierrez‘s Rings opens February 3rd, with Thursday night showings available.
Check out the opening clip below followed by an additional clip featuring Galecki’s first viewing of the tape.
