Trailer Spotlight: Magic Mike XXL

Not just large, not just extra large, it’s double the extra large!!! In all seriousness it’s safe to say that most people came into the original Magic Mike with preconceived notions. I think it’s equally safe to say that those same people, if they watched the movie at all were likely blown away by the depth and emotion the original actually had. Then you look into who directed the film and when you read Steven Soderbergh, it becomes no surprise that Magic Mike was as tragically stunning as it was.

No shock that a sequel was announced given the success of the first. Low and behold we bring you Magic Mike XXL! The first teaser for the film didn’t give much away, mostly just showing Channing Tatum shirtless a lot. So trailer number two brings you some new footage and some more insight into the actual story.

Check out the trailer!

Here’s the synopsis!

Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, “Magic Mike XXL” finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel.  But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them.  On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.

There are a lot of familiar faces in the sequel. The problem is Matthew Mcconaughey is not one of them. This trailer is full of the man candy that a male stripper movie would promise. It has some new characters and provides a new story for getting the band back together. All of this does not erase the Mcconnaughey sized hole. On top of that there is unfortunately no Soderbergh this time around. Bro Knows doesn’t expect much from this movie except a lot of half naked dudes gyrating all over the place, but this thing is like the Avengers for women, so it’s going to make money. Based on the first movie alone we will give this a shot, but the trailer doesn’t give much depth, and it makes us miss the Mcconnaughey!
