Trailer Spotlight: Pan

pan Peter Pan is a beloved character and has an illustrious history. From the Disney animated version to Robin Williams in Hook, there have been a lot of adaptations and iteration of the fabled flying lost boy. So the news of the new Peter Pan film Pan was definitely great news. Then the cast was announced and it’s starts to look like this is a film that is going to demand a lot of attention. A little while back the first trailer for Pan dropped and gave us a great look at the tone, cast and the world in which this is going to take place in. The first trailer was magnificent, and beautiful making it difficult to believe that the marketing could produce a better trailer. Well they found a way! This new trailer for Pan is absolutely incredible! Giving us a slightly deeper look at the world and some amazing special effects shots of the Jolly Roger flying through the sky. The good news with a movie like Pan is that the story of Peter Pan, for the most part, is already fixed. There is a general plot that pretty much any film made about the character would have to build off of, so trailers won’t necessarily spoil the film. This is definitely a unique take on the old fairytale, and it’s the first time BlackBeard will be in a Peter Pan feature. Check out the trailer!! Here’s the official synopsis!

Peter (Levi Miller) is a mischievous 12-year-old boy with an irrepressible rebellious streak, but in the bleak London orphanage where he has lived his whole life those qualities do not exactly fly.  Then one incredible night, Peter is whisked away from the orphanage and spirited off to a fantastical world of pirates, warriors and fairies called Neverland.  There, he finds amazing adventures and fights life-or-death battles while trying to uncover the secret of his mother, who left him at the orphanage so long ago, and his rightful place in this magical land.  Teamed with the warrior Tiger Lily (Rooney Mara) and a new friend named James Hook (Garrett Hedlund), Peter must defeat the ruthless pirate Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman) to save Neverland and discover his true destiny—to become the hero who will forever be known as Peter Pan.

There is no question this is going to be a visual feast. The trick here is to avoid the issues that similarly popular tales like Alice in Wonderland and Oz The Great and Powerful produced. Both of those films were gorgeous spectacles with stories, dialogue, and chemistry that didn’t quite work. Everything about Pan has us here at Bro Knows excited. Garrett Hedlund as Hook and Hugh Jackman as BlackBeard look great. Rooney Mara is always beautiful and amazing in everything she does. This film looks like it’s going to be one of the best movies from a visual perspective that we will likely see this year. The film stars Levi Miller, Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara, Amanda Seyfried, Cara Delevigne and Hugh Jackman and is directed by Joe Wright. Pan is set for release on October 9, 2015.
