Inspired by true events, THE REVENANT is an immersive and visceral cinematic experience capturing one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption. THE REVENANT is directed and co-written by renowned filmmaker, Academy Award-winner Alejandro González Iñárritu (Birdman, Babel).

This is one of the single most cinematically breathtaking trailers we have ever seen. The initial reaction to the news of the movie was that this would be a solid personal tale of revenge, but instead this movie feels very large in scale. The tone and cinematography still feel very personal but the landscape and the story have a very grand outlook. This felt less like a movie and more like a historical documentary. The imagery from this film al feel extraordinarily authentic. Tom Hardy looks great in the supporting role and DiCaprio is chilling in the limited screen time we see from him in this trailer. It’s impossible not to think that this is the role that will earn him his first best actor win, and might even nab Hardy a supporting nod, but either way, this film promises to be one of the most compelling and visceral experiences of any this year.

The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, Will Poulter and Lukas Haas and is directed by Alejandro G. Inarritu. The Revenant is set for release on January 7, 2016.

So Bro Nation, what did you think of the trailer? Are you excited for The Revenant? Even though it’s early what do think of DiCaprio’s Oscar chances? Drop a comment and let’s start a discussion!
