Taika Waititi is hard at work finishing up his directorial efforts with Thor: Ragnarok, but there is some exciting news regarding another property the director is heavily involved in. Last year a little mockumentary What We Do In The Shadows delighted fans with cult success. The film was one of the most brilliantly humorous features in recent memory, and was the best spoof film in years. Watiti had mentioned the possibility for a sequel, which he said would focus on the Werewolves from the first film, and it appears that we are definitely getting another movie.
Waititi was making the rounds at the Sundance Film Festival this week and has now actually released the title for the pending sequel. He announced that he and his writing partner Jemaine Clement are indeed writing a Werewolf spinoff that will be titled We’re Wolves.
Clement also told reporters that the film will bring back and feature Anton, played by Rhys Darby, who had the biggest scene stealing moment in the original, when a group of werewolves come across the vampires and a hilarious confrontation ensues. Watiti has said that this is most likely to be his very next project so we shouldn’t have to wait too long to get a spinoff that is surely to rival the hilarity of the first. This promises to be an incredibly delightful romp of a film that we cannot wait to see.
So what do you guys think of the title for the spinoff? Did you enjoy the What We Do In The Shadows? Are you excited for a possible Werewolf spinoff? Drop a comment and let us know what you think.
