Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have been teasing the idea of a new Bad Boys film for quite some time now. The duo had mentioned back in October that there was a “Very Very Very strong possibility that we will see a Bad Boys sequel in the next 12-16 months.” That isn’t exactly an official word on the subject and so it was taken with a grain of salt. So now we may know a little bit more about the potential sequel.
Complex has reported some vague new details surrounding the film, as Will Smith spoke to BBC radio and discussed the project along with his rekindled friendship with Lawrence.
“I saw Martin [Lawrence] a few weeks ago,” Smith reveals. “I haven’t seen him for about two years. We just looked at each other. We hugged. In that moment, we knew we were making another Bad Boys. We’re definitely doing another one.”
Well that is certainly a little more concrete, but make no mistake this is not confirmation that a Smith will be starring in the sequel. That said, the key word was “definitely” as in Will smith is very confident that this sequel is going to happen, and presumably he will be starring, which is fantastic, if it’s true. There has been subsequent release dates for a potential Bad Boys 3 and 4 for February 17th 2017 and July 3rd 2019, but that is subject to change, and there is no guarantee that Smith and Lawrence will star in either of those, but the word “definitely” just keeps ringing around in our heads.
So what do you guys think of Smith’s comments? Are you excited for a Bad Boys 3? Drop a comment and let us know what you think?
