Batman v Superman has been nothing if not a divisive film. That said, the fan boys who lambasted Warners and Zack Snyder for casting Affleck as batman are likely changing their tunes after seeing the film. Affleck is easily the most complete character and his performance rises above near detrimental script and dialogue issues. So now the question on everyone’s mind is will we get an Affleck directed Batman stand alone film anytime in the near future? Well it would appear that if BvS director Zack Snyder has his way then we absolutely will. Snyder, in a recent interview, told Heroic Hollywood the following:

“I keep working on him, he’s always said he’s a one movie at a time guy. He’s finishing editing his film, Live By Night and then he comes to Justice League and then after that, I think he’s going to try and develop the story. Then we’ll see if he likes it.”

As a follow up, when asked if Affleck would also direct Snyder had this to say:

“Oh yeah, for sure. I think he would. I think that’s kind of the prerequisite, hopefully, for him doing [the film].”

We learned recently that Affleck is only contractually obligated to appear in 3 movies as the dark knight, but may end up being coerced into a standalone Batman film, if he can find the time to do so. We also were told that he has already written a script for a stand alone movie. Snyder’s comments would have us believe that this is only a matter of time and that after Justice League part one we will likely move forward with the Affleck directed Batman movie. We can only hope that is the case.
